WHO IS RAINER THEELEN?

1. What is your function? Not just your title, but what do you do?
To be the Director of Legal & Business affairs means that I consult Absolutely Independent in all business affairs. That goes hand in hand with the protection of our clients' interests, especially IP Rights. I support the sales team by converting all the negotiated points between the parties into a contract, by helping to find solutions in difficult situations, and, if necessary, by leading mediation. I also support the team in entering new markets. In short, I'm responsible for any legal issues involving the company. 

2. How long have you been with Absolutely Independent?
I became an employee in February 2010, but have worked for Absolutely Independent since 2006 as a lawyer on a consultancy basis.

3. What did you do previously?
I was a trade and company lawyer. In 2005, I specialized in tax and IP rights.

4. What did you study, if anything?
Law and tax law in Cologne, Germany.

5. What do you do in your spare time?
Sports, cooking, meeting friends, playing music.

6. What (or who) is your passion in life?
A trip around the world, music and books.
