Historical Overview -- the headlines -
1996: Absolutely Independent was founded by Patty Geneste as a one-woman-company on February 1st. -
1999: The first employee was hired. -
2000: We moved into our first rented office space. -
2000: The Absolutely Group was incorporated. -
2001: We bought our current, newly-built office in Amsterdam-North. -
2003: We took the first steps toward forming a consultancy service for advertisers interested in their own television programs but not knowing where to start. In 2004 this service expanded, motivating us to group these activities under a new name: Absolutely Branded. We’ve been developing the potential of this fascinating business unit ever since. -
2004: Absolutely Talent was launched. (We discontinued these activities in 2007.) -
2004: We became a member of the prestigious Academy, the organization for the (International) Emmy Awards. Patty Geneste now operates as a jury member on a regular basis. Last summer, Absolutely Independent hosted the semifinals in Amsterdam; 24 international top TV executives attended. -
2005: Sarah Jelvefors joined Absolutely Independent. In December 2005 we opened our office in Sweden, which covers the Scandinavian market, Finland, the Baltics, Poland, and Russia. -
2006: Our sub-brand Absolutely Charity was launched. We organized a wealth of charity initiatives, including Consulting Plan International, as well as a party for elderly people and our 2008 new year’s gift produced by homeless people. -
Today we have 6 full-time employees and one part-timer working from our offices in Amsterdam. |
