The Venla Award has existed since 1982. The Finnish prize is the regional version of the American Emmy Award. Find my Family was competing against two other strong formats; Got Talent and Village without Women. The Finnish version of Find my Family is produced by Solar Television, which is now in production with the second series: 10 new episodes for MTV3. The series is a #1 hit for MTV3.

Find my Family started in The Netherlands 20 years ago. For two years the format has been traveling around the world, scoring huge ratings everywhere it launches; Denmark, Australia, the USA, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Finland, Spain and Italy-with several other countries under option.
