Last Tuesday evening the third Dutch series of Destination Unknown kicked off on Nederland 3. On Destination Unknown the presenter gives youngsters the spur-of-the-moment chance to step out of their comfort zone in a week-long trip to an unknown destination. Their only guarantee is that this will be a trip they’ll remember forever. They’re instructed to help change someone else’s life thousands of miles from home in a location they themselves would have never chosen. Friendships are tested and emotions run high. Will the participants really try to make a difference or will they give up? One thing is certain: their lives will never be the same!

In the first episode of this series, Dutch teens Femke and Alice visit a birth clinic in Uganda. It turns out to be an  emotional journey for both of them, one in which they’re confronted with death and new life.
