German public broadcaster WDR has commissioned a series of six episodes of ‘Memories’. 'Liebe ist Alles', the title in German, will be produced by Caligari and will be broadcast on Fridays at 21:00, starting on the 28th of August. It is the first time ever that the WDR has bought a format.
In ‘Memories’, former lovers describe the history of their love before meeting again after many years apart – often an emotional event. ‘Memories’ takes them back in time, showing them that many things have changed except their deepest feelings; those are true, real and straight from the heart.
‘Memories’ is a format created by Dutch public broadcaster KRO and is presented by host
Anita Witzier, who recently posed nude in elegant photographs as part of an outdoor advertising campaign for ‘Blootgewoon’, the Dutch adaption of the 3Koma format ‘Calendar of the Year’. Absolutely Independent is proud to be the exclusive distributor of both successful formats.
‘Memories’ has been on air in the Netherlands since 1997 and has remained highly successful ever since, scoring steadily far above the channel’s average of NL1.
Philipp Bitterling, Programme Developer at WDR: ‘Memories’ is a great show with true emotions. Though the WDR doesn't often buy international formats, this time we really see the value of adapting this format for our audience."
Gabriele M. Walther, Managing Director of Caligari: “We are confident that ‘Liebe ist Alles’ will score in WDR´s primetime slot because it is a very clear format with strong emotional moments.”
