AVRO

AVRO is a major independent Dutch public broadcaster.
Basic values from which AVRO operates are freedom, tolerance, a broadminded attitude to life and (people's own) responsibility. To stimulate these values in our society AVRO presents cross medial content on radio, tv and the internet, as well as in print media.

In order to enable people to form their own, well-founded opinions, AVRO shows the broader picture: not just one, but more - and if possible all - sides of an issue: for and against, black and white, left and right...

AVRO focuses primarily on cultural and social issues like art, classical music, health & wellness and sustainability, but also makes productions for the public at large in the shape of trustworthy news programmes, documentaries, drama, children's programmes, events and entertainmen, all in accessible formats with a large audience potential and based on integrity and a high level of quality.

Dahl TV

Dahl TV was established by Maurice Dekkers ('67), a graduate of the Royal Academy for the Fine Arts, after more than ten years with the Dutch Public Broadcasting Corporation and numerous corporate video projects.

With Dahl TV, Dekkers wanted to establish a small, but solid production company to produce high quality programmes with a close-knit team of driven employees.

Among Dahl TV's successes are "Keuringsdienst van Waarde" (still in production after more than 60 episodes, broadcast on Nederland 3), "Churchill in Rijswijk" (VPRO) and "Het blijft toch..." (VPRO, 14 episodes).
"Keuringsdienst van Waarde" started its sixth series in October 2007. Another twenty episodes will be produced and broadcast in 2008.
"Keuringsdienst van Waarde", or "CIA" ("Consumer Investigation Agency") as it is called abroad, can best be described as a consumer programme about food. Aside from the fact that they are often extremely funny, the answers to the simple questions posed in the programme are thought provoking enough to give a stroll through the supermarket an entirely new dimension.

"Klootwijk aan Zee" is a spin-off of "Keuringsdienst van Waarde". In "Klootwijk aan Zee", Wouter Klootwijk, culinary and home journalist, goes out in search of beautiful stories about fish, fish as food, fish to learn from and fish to love. The programme takes viewers on a breathtaking tour of all that the water and its environs have to offer.
In the first season (2006) of "Klootwijk aan Zee", Klootwijk explored the Dutch coastline from an antique fishing cutter.
The second season (2007) of the programme was the first television programme to combine the worlds of cycling and fish, with Klootwijk visiting Europe's most beautiful havens, fjords and waterways by bicycle.
Production of the third season of "Klootwijk aan Zee" (2008) has already begun. In the programme's third season, Klootwijk will continue his exploration of the fabulous world of fish, but this time he will find his fantastically fishy stories by foot, by public transport and by hitchhiking. There is a brave new world out there... And it revolves around fish!

Dahl TV has been monitoring the topic of slavery in the cacao industry since 2003. After producing a number of programmes on this topic, Dahl TV decided to take action to help right the wrongs it was showing in its programmes and introduced its own slave-free chocolate bar: "Tony's Chocolonely" (named after Teun - Tony - van de Keuken, one of the reporters featured in "Keuringsdienst van Waarde"). "Tony's Chocolonely" (200 gram and 50 gram bars of milk and dark chocolate) has already become a household name in the chocolate industry. Dahl TV continues to monitor the situation in the cacao industry and is producing an international feature-length documentary on the industry for release in 2008.

Dahl TV is developing an increasingly strong position as a specialist in food-related TV and plans to launch a new website that focuses solely on food in 2008. The site will be extremely rich in content, based on Dahl TV's years of expertise in the production of food-related television.

On average, Dahl TV employs approximately 12 people. The Dahl TV team is solid, dedicated and close-knit.

GameShows.nl

GameShows.nl is an initiative of Joris van Ooijen Media Concepten.

Joris van Ooijen, independent format creator since 1987, has developed numerous formats in collaboration with producers and broadcasters inside and outside The Netherlands. Some well-known titles are: Who am I?, All You Need is Love, Now or Never, Get the Picture, Tell it to the Marines, I Can Do Better, Above Average, The Language Game, People's Verdict and Sign Here.

In december 2005 Joris decided to concentrate exclusively on the development of Game Shows in the future. Simply because Game Show formats are great fun to work on. In the history of television, the first real formats were Game Shows. And Game Shows are and will always be an important part of the programming all over the world.

Inventing Game Shows has always been Joris' great passion, to which he is going to devote his full attention now. To be expected are: daily quiz shows, weekly game shows, celeb panel shows and all kinds of other concepts in which game and competition elements play a role.

The formats developed by GameShows.nl are well thought-out and clear from A to Z. Our formats are anything but a dime a dozen. Before a format is put on the market, it has gone through an extensive and careful process of development.

KRO

KRO is one of the biggest broadcasting corporations within the system of public broadcasting in the Netherlands. The abbreviation KRO stands for Katholieke Radio Omroep, which means Catholic Radio Broadcasting Corporation. This 'catholic' doesn't mean that KRO is a religious or church broadcasting corporation: it has a broad orientation towards the whole population, but is rooted in the catholic part of the population. In 1925, a group of Catholics saw an opportunity in the, at that time, new medium of radio to provide Catholics with information and amusement.

In the already 80 years that KRO has existed, its work area has spread enormously (besides radio, also television, internet, a digital tv channel, teletext, publishing, etcetera), and the interpretation of tasks has grown with the times and has become more extensive. KRO provides some 1100 hours of television per year, almost 22 hours per week on the channels Nederland 1 and 3. KRO wants to stimulate a broad view on man and society, the source of which lies in our religious conviction. This view should be recognizable in all our products. Values like tolerance, solidarity, integrity, humour, relativity, trust, multiformity, and professionalism belong to that view. KRO's slogan is " the feeling you want to share', the feeling that people are part of a bigger unity and recognize these values. We call ourselves a "social media enterprise": an enterprise that wants to fulfil a social function by means of different media. To inform people, to amuse and to inspire them, that remains the starting-point. And all that within the public broadcasting system, without private advantage and without much government interference.

This objective is concisely expressed in our mission statement: 'Inspired by the catholic tradition and in connection with the catholic community, KRO wants to offer public audiovisual services without any private advantage, as well as all other communicative services that can be logically connected to this.'

Parklane

Parklane is the production house that invented Direct Formatting. In a world where public interest in commercials is waning, we found an opportunity to get the message across without the 'in your face' mentality- and in an even more productive, still commercial way. The solution was an alliance between advertising and home entertainment. This doesn't mean product placement in a television show, but a show about a product or brand. The product or brand has become the subject instead of merely window dressing.

This creates opportunity for all concerned. The products have more effective and appealing exposure; the networks get better shows with more value-for-money and the consumer is still free to choose. Everybody is a winner and that's what we like.
