The story takes place in the fictional seaside town Boedzand. It’s the 28th of April and the Aslan family is busy with preparing a big party at the Lido, the beach house that they operate. Father Osman celebrates his 50th birthday. During the party, daughter Yasmin slips out to the beach with her boyfriend Sander Looman. After a while, Sander returns, gasping for air with the announcement that Yasmin is gone.
A large search is organized in the dunes, on the beach and at sea under the direction of the village policeman Marcel Clijsters. Earlier that day, he discovered a website on which Yasmin, his own daughter Merel and Sonja, Sanders sister can be seen in a pornographic movie. The disappearance of Yasmin and the question of where she is and what happened to her, is the backbone of the series. The village Boedzand is completely turned upside down: everybody is a suspect, relationships are at stake and the deepest secrets of the characters will sooner or later come to the surface.
